Gates McFadden & George Takei Added To Vegas Khhaaan! 2012 Roster

Gates McFadden & George Takei To Attend Vegas Khhaaan! 2012

Creation Entertainment announced today that Gates McFadden (ST:TNG - Dr. Beverly Crusher) and George Takei (TOS - Mr. Sulu) will be among the celebrity guests at this August’s Vegas Convention. They have a stellar (ya, we meant to do that) line up so far for the upcoming convention. Most of the captains (hopefully more to be added), tons of the series regulars and a whole bunch of episode special guests. Confidentially, we haven’t yet seen Gates in person because she doesn’t seem to attend quite as many conventions as some of the other cast so we’re pretty excited to see her in Vegas this year.

You can check out the current confirmed celebrity guest list here. If you have a favorite, make sure to jot down when they will be appearing, because not all guests will be there for the whole weekend.

Data Feed: Star Trek's George Takei To Join Celebrity Apprentice 5

I have to admit that I don't watch reality TV... not enough Vulcan's or phaser blasts for my tastes, but that could soon change (although probably not). George Takei is joining Donald Trump for Celebrity Apprentice 5. If anyone can take on Trump, it's George... OH MYYYY! Also joining the cast this season; Adam Carolla, Austin Comic-con favorite and Liberator star Lou Ferrigno, Dee Snider, & Penn Jillette to name a few. So let's face it. Trek fans will watch simply because George is awesome. Heck, we would too if we could get past the pseudo-drama, horribly fake confrontations, & terrible editing to make any situation contentious. Although, The Shat on Cupcake Boss might change our minds on Reality TV as a whole. Yes folks, there's a show called Cupcake Boss. Check out the full list of stars that will be joining George on Celebrity Apprentice:

Star Trek's George Takei Appearing at Dallas Fan Days Ocotber 8th & 9th

Star Trek's George Takei Appearing at Dallas Fan Days Ocotber 8th & 9th

Dallas Comic Con is at it again. Their newest convention is coming up on October 8th & 9th. This particular "Fan Days" convention, is Star Wars themed, but we thought Trek fans would want to know because George Takei will be appearing over the weekend. If you haven't been to any of the conventions Dallas Comic Con puts on, you're really missing out. They run a great show. They are big enough and well known enough to get a ton of the great guests, but small enough to allow fans greater access to those guests. If you are anywhere near Dallas, TX on October 8th & 9th we totally think you should stop by and check it out. It's shaping up to be a great show.

George Takei Is Proud Of Star Trek's Legacy

George Takei Is "Proud" Of Star Trek's Legacy

As most of you know, our favorite helmsman turned captain, George Takei, was a guest at the Motor City ComicCon over the weekend. Along with Kate Mulgrew & Brent Spiner, George was available for photo-ops & autographs to the pleasure of Detroit Area Trek Fans. Right before the con though, George was interviewed by The Detroit news. There, He spills the beans on his role in "Supah Ninjas" and why he called out Warner Bros. over their "Akira" casting choices, but more importantly we learn that George is very proud of Star Trek's legacy.

Data Feed: It's So Easy, Even Kirk Can Do It

Data Feed: It's So Easy, Even Kirk Can Do ItOhhh myyy, our favorite helmsman (yes we know he was captain of the Excelsior) George Takei has lent his name and appearance to new commercials for the Social Security Administration.  We know George's age, but man, he looks too young to qualify for Social Security.  George stars opposite Patty Duke in the Star Trek spoofs where both don pseudo TOS uniforms and perform in front of a green screen.

"You’ve navigated through asteroid belts, right?” Patty asks. “Well, compared to that, navigating socialsecurity.gov is a snap. It’s so easy even Kirk could do it.”  Neither Patty nor George were paid for the endorsement. George explains, “I have some notoriety from Star Trek and this is a way to get people to note the fact that we can now go online to apply for Social Security,”

A New Comedy Short Film Narrated by Star Trek’s George Takei, “Oh My!”

A new comedy short film by Derek Nguyen called “The Potential Wives of Norman Mao” is being completed now, and is Executive Produced and Narrated by none other than Star Trek’s George Takei.

Here’s how the filmmakers describe the film: Norman Mao is an overweight, and socially-awkward man-child from Hong Kong, who at the age of 33 is still unwed. Desperate to get him married, his parents take him on an international junket across the globe to find him a worthy Chinese wife. The Maos arrive to a New York City hotel, which is their final stop on their trip and their last hope to find Norman a bride. Having hired a professional matchmaking service, the Maos meet with three matches for Norman. Will one of these women be a potential wife for Norman or is he destined to lead a terribly lonely life?

Set Your DVRs To Awesome, Star Trek's George Takei on "The Big Bang Theory" Tomorrow Night

Set Your DVRs To Awesome, Star Trek's George Takei on "The Big Bang Theory" Tomorrow Night

Oooh Myyyyy! as George Takei would say, he's going to join Wil Wheaton in the ranks of "The Big Bang Theory" guest stars. The show airs tomorrow night (October 14th) at 8pm EDT / 7pm CDT on CBS and George plays "himself" or a highly exaggerated version of himself. While taking a small stab at one of his Trek co-stars, he explains "I'm playing a character named George Takei. You know, I've often done guest shots as George Takei, but, in 'Psych,' I played a puffed up, egocentric, self-centered George Takei, so I used one of my colleagues as my model for that one. But the character was named George Takei."
