John Billingsley In New Play, "The Government Inspector", Launching July 28th In Pasadena

Former ship's doctor and Life After Trek-er, John Billingsley, is set to star in a new play starting July 28th in Pasadena, California called The Government Inspector. The play is a brand new adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's work. Adapted by (and with original songs from) Oded Gross, the play is re-envisioned as a cutting, tragic farce with influences from Monty Python and Brazil. The play centers around corrupt, self-seeking officials of a small town in Tzarist Russia which mistake a penniless clerk for a government inspector. The new adaptation will launch at the Boston Court on July 28th, running through August 26th.

Pants Can't Contain William Shatner And His Awesomeness

In a slightly embarrassing incident at LAX, William "The Shat" Shatner was going through a TSA checkpoint when his pants dropped like the shields on the Reliant. "He tasks me and I shall have him!".... Fortunately, Khan wasn't responsible. Due to his long flight to South Africa, Sir Billiam was wearing loose fitting clothing and didn't happen to wear a belt. Some lucky travelers got to see Bill in his Starfleet skivvies. I bet it was like looking into a rainbow made of lasers and unicorns.
"I didn’t really understand what we were getting into" Says Jonathan Frakes About Star Trek: The Next Generation

So, let me start this off by saying how much I enjoy the L.A Times. Hero Complex. Its extremely well written & and one of my go to blogs for all things geek. I have to admit a small secret though, I get both jealous and giddy every time I read an article.... Anyway, if you're not reading it, you should be. With that out of the way, Geoff Boucher of Hero Complex recently wrote a fantastic article about Jonathan Frakes and his experience from "Encounter at Farpoint" through the full TNG run, ending with Nemesis. I don't want to give too much away, but I'll drop a few excepts here to peak your interest.
It’s Going To Be A Klingon Party With Martok And Gowron This Weekend At BayouCon

Actually, do Klingons ever party? I suppose revelry and astonishing tales around a bonfire count…as long as blood wine is involved. Speaking of partying Klingons, two of the most raucous will be appearing this weekend at BayouCon in Lake Charles, Louisiana. JG Hertzler (Martok) and Robert O’Reilly (Gowron) will be speaking on panels, signing autographs, posing for photos and mingling with guests at the Klingon Breakfast. Oh, and did we mention that they will be appearing in full Klingon costume during some of the convention? How could it not be awesome?!
Star Trek's LeVar Burton "On The Verge" This Monday

Our favorite engineer & child literacy advocate, LeVar Burton, will be on a brand new episode of "On The Verge" this Monday (June 25th). Recorded live yesterday in New York City, in this episode LeVar discusses his brand new Reading Rainbow app for the iPad as well as his Trek fame and of all things, Gary Busey. From the clip we've seen, LeVar is stellar as always. Oh, and he's freaking hilarious. You can catch the episode on TheVerge.com this Monday.
